Growing a Greener Future: Our JPIC Journey

At Sophia Opportunity School, the values of Justice, Peace, and Integrity of Creation (JPIC) come to life through simple yet meaningful actions. Our special children play a vital role in nurturing a small garden—watering the plants, adding manure, and caring for them with love. This daily activity teaches them responsibility and deepens their connection with nature. As they watch the plants grow, they learn that patience and dedication can bring beautiful results, just like in life.

Beyond the garden, the students are committed to reducing plastic waste. Teachers raise awareness about the harmful effects of plastic and encourage students to make paper envelopes. These handmade envelopes are then donated to a medical shop, promoting both sustainability and community service.

In addition to paper envelopes, students have also learned to make paper covers and woollen mats as alternatives to plastic. These eco-friendly initiatives help reduce waste, foster creativity, and encourage a sustainable lifestyle.

As Mahatma Gandhi once said, "Be the change that you wish to see in the world." Through these efforts, we strive to protect the environment, promote kindness, and inspire change—one small step at a time. JPIC is not just a concept for us; it is a way of life, shaping a better future for all.
